Ken Surface has experience in all facets of Real Property Assessing including ratio studies, managing cyclical assessment, annual trending and new construction projects. Ken has successfully defended thousands of property tax appeals for the counties that he has served and has provided valuable testimony for multiple IBTR hearings won by the county.

Ken specializes in assessing large commercial projects such as multi-family units, industrial warehouses and a wide variety of income producing properties, which have added billions of assessed values for counties, resulting in millions of actual tax dollars received.  Ken has a vast amount of experience as a continuing education instructor and can develop any class to meet your real property educational needs. 

Outside of assessing, Ken held a successful career in HR in both union and non-union manufacturing. Ken enjoys golfing and is a certified scuba diver seeking the perfect underwater picture.
